Highway 29 detour between Wadena and Highway 210 begins Aug. 22
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Motorists on Highway 29 between Wadena and Highway 210 will experience delays when a detour begins Aug. 22.
Traffic will be detoured using Otter Tail County Highway 75 and Highway 210. The detour will be in place for approximately three weeks while crews complete culvert work as part of a road resurfacing project currently in progress.
Following the detour, motorists will encounter lane closures while crews resurface the road. Flaggers and pilot cars will guide traffic through the work zone where crews are working.
Access for local traffic will be maintained throughout the entire project.
The project is scheduled to be completed in early October. Upon completion, these improvements will provide a safer road with better conditions and improved accessibility.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones. For statewide travel information, visit www.511mn.org, call 5-1-1 or log on to www.mndot.gov.
