Final stage

Reconstruct Highway 10 through Wadena between Birch Ave. and Wadena Co. Rd. 4 in 2020. Construction began March 30. As of Aug. 6, 2020 the project remains on schedule.

Hwy 10 will close to reconstruct the last segment in Wadena through October between Hwy 71 and Birch Ave. NW, at the Wadena County fairgrounds.

Hwy 10 will close and detour between Wadena and Bluffton on August 24

Detour uses Hwy 71 Wadena, Hwy 29 and Otter Tail County Rd. 75 east of Bluffton. Adds one mile to trip. Here's what will change:

  • Expect stops, delays at peak travel hours or when a train goes through the area
  • Temporary traffic signal at Hwy 29/Co. Rd. 75
  • Temporary all-way stop at Hwy 10/Co. Rd. 75
  • Hwy 10 will be open to local traffic between Co. Rd. 75 and Birch Ave. NW; however, closed to ALL traffic between Birch Ave. NW and First St. SW
  • Pedestrian walks to close, detour

Second St. W access to close and detour to reconstruct the intersection and RR crossing

    • Second Street SW detour uses Hwy 29 and Hwy 71
    • Second Street NW detour uses Juniper Ave. and Hwy 71
    • Pedestrian walks to close, detour

All new lanes, sidewalks and accesses to open in October, 2020.

Wadena is Open

Access to businesses and residences to be maintained and open, however expect changes and gravel surfaces. May include temporary entrances, side roads or back entrances.
