Aug. 19, 2010 - Heavy Area Rains Delay Work - Due the unusually heavy rains this time of year and the rise in the river elevations to almost 9 feet, the bridge contractor has been unable to complete critical work tasks within the proposed schedule.

We are currently evaluating the impact of these rain delays and the schedule will be revised. The contractor will continue to work to make up for these weather-related delays. However, this project was on an aggressive schedule and these extreme weather condition may have an effect on the completion date.

At this point, we anticipate that crews will be returning to work on Monday, August 23.

Nov. 5, 2010 - The north and west roadway and sidewalks opened to traffic late Friday afternoon, Nov. 5. Traffic can move through the roundabout intersection to and from the north and west.

Oct. 27, 2010 - The concrete work is nearly complete, including the sidewalks around the roundabout. State of the art LED street lighting has been installed along the roadway and will be tested.

Oct. 18, 2010 - Crews grade and compact soils in the roundabout construction area.

Oct. 27, 2010 - Due to unusually high water this time of year, limited work was completed on the bridges this past week. The high water has delayed  installation of the precast decorative concrete arches that will be placed on each side of the bridges on each span.
