Icy roads make hazardous driving conditions
BAXTER, Minn. - The Minnesota Department of Transportation advises motorist to use caution while driving in Central Minnesota due icy roads conditions.
No closures of interstate highways or other roads are anticipated at this time; however, motorists may encounter brief lane closures where crashes occur.
MnDOT crews are doing their part to make highways safe. Motorists should remember to:
- Drive slowly on bridges, overpasses and tunnels.
- Use a safe speed for winter driving conditions, regardless of the posted speed limit.
- Keep a safe stopping distance from the vehicle in front of you.
- Keep both hands on the steering wheel, your eyes on the road and your attention on your driving.
