BAXTER, Minn. –  A detour for the Highway 169 road resurfacing project begins Monday, July 26, to allow crews to replace a culvert just south of Aitkin.

This work will require a three-mile detour via Aitkin County Road 76 and will be in effect for approximately three working days. 

On Tuesday, July 27, crews will begin resurfacing a portion of the project on Highway 210, just west of 9th Avenue North to County Road 12, east of the Ripple River and on Highway 169, just north of the Aitkin city limits to the junction of Highways 169/210. 

Motorists will encounter lane closures and periodic stops controlled by flaggers and a pilot car during this work, which is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, July 29, weather permitting. 

When the resurfacing in Aitkin is completed, the resurfacing of Highway 169 from just north of Garrison to Aitkin will begin.  The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late September.
