ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Motorists will encounter shoulder, sidewalk and lane closures on Highway 10 in Elk River as crews make pedestrian accessibility improvements at the intersections of Proctor Avenue and Main Street.
Motorists should be prepared for sudden stops, watch for workers and equipment in the construction zone, including in the medians. Parking restrictions and sidewalk and side street closures are possible.
The pedestrian controls at the traffic signal systems also will be upgraded for individuals with hearing or sight impairments by providing safety directions in alternative formats using verbal messages, audible tones and vibrating button surfaces.
Landwehr Construction, Inc., of St. Cloud, is the prime contractor for the $70,000 accessibility improvement project.
All work is anticipated to be complete by late August.
