Resurfacing begins on Highway 25 in Watertown May 10
Traffic to be detoured

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Motorists traveling on Highway 25 through Watertown will encounter a detour between State Street and White Street beginning Monday, May 10, when crews begin resurfacing the road to improve highway safety, access and mobility.

Motorists will follow a signed detour via Highway 7, Carver County 21, Wright County 10 and Wright County 30.

Construction includes:

  • Turn lanes at the intersections of Territorial Street and State Street to improve traffic operations on Highway 25.
  • Curbs and gutters to control storm water runoff and eliminate ongoing erosion issues.
  • Widening the intersection of Highway 25 and Territorial Street and extending the curb and gutter to prevent traffic from cutting the corner which will eliminate rutting and drainage concerns.
  • A multi-use trail on the east side of the road from Bickford Street to State Street, concrete multi-use trail from State Street to Territorial Street and a concrete side walk from Territorial Street to White Street.

William Mueller and Sons is the prime contractor for this $865,000 road improvement project. The project is scheduled to be completed by July 31, 2010, weather permitting.
