Highway 22 from Stearns CR 9 to Stearns CR 43 closed due to flooding

ST CLOUD, Minn.- (1:30 p.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol closed Highway 22 from Stearns County Road 9 to Stearns County Road 43 just south of Richmond at 1:30 p.m. due to flood damage to the roadway.

Highway 22 is closed to through traffic until further notice.

Travel is not advised on Highway 22 about one mile south of Highway 23 near Richmond due to water over the roadway.

Motorists should plan accordingly. When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
