Hwy 84 Pine River to Longville lanes close Aug. 21 through October

Baxter, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 84 between Cass County Road 1 in Pine River and Highway 200 north of Longville will encounter construction crews, flaggers and potential delays while segments of the road are reduced to a single lane beginning Monday, Aug. 21.

The lane closures will occur from sunrise to sunset, up to seven days per week, and will be complete in early-October.

Flaggers and a pilot car will allow one-way, alternating traffic through the daily work zones. Motorists approaching the work zones must slow down and be prepared to stop, obey the flagger, and follow the pilot car through the work zone. Motorists entering a work zone from driveways or roads that intersect Highway 84 must wait for the pilot car to pass, then follow it through the work zone.

The closures are needed while crews resurface the road, repair drainage infrastructure and shoulders, and install new guardrail and rumble strips. When complete, the project will provide a smoother ride, improve safety and extend the life along 30 miles of Highway 84 in Cass county.
