Work continues on Hwy 169/210 bridge northeast of Aitkin through September
BAXTER, Minn.— Work to replace the Hwy 210/169 bridge over Sissabagamah Creek three miles northeast of Aitkin resumed July 24. The work was postponed two weeks to relocate utilities.
Motorists to encounter intermittent lane and shoulder closures while crews construct temporary bypass lanes to carry traffic after the existing lanes are closed to replace the bridge. Once traffic shifts onto the temporary lanes, motorists will encounter minimal delays.
Any questions about this project may be directed to MnDOT Construction Project Manager Matt Indihar, at 218-828-5737.
When complete in late-September, the $1.2 million project will replace the existing bridge with a double box culvert bridge that will accommodate a roadway with wider shoulders, improved overall drainage and an upgraded safety guardrail system.
