Orange barrels on a highway

WORK COMPLETE: Southbound Hwy 24 in Clear Lake to close overnight

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists who travel in Clear Lake may encounter a short detour and delays as southbound Highway 24 between Highway 10 and State Street, near the railroad crossing just west of Highway 10, is closed overnight for several nights Sept. 11 through Sept. 17.

Project location map/detour
Southbound Hwy 24 in Clear Lake to close overnight Sept. 11-17.

The closures will begin at 9 p.m., with all southbound lanes of Highway 24 open by 5 a.m. the following day.

When southbound Highway 24 is closed, a short detour will direct motorists one block east of the Highway 10/Highway 24 intersection, to the Highway 10/First Avenue E intersection.

The overnight closures are needed while crews install a new raised concrete center median barrier at the Highway 24 railroad crossing. When complete, the project will improve safety at the railroad crossing.
