Hwy 65 south of Mora is closed at the Ann River due to rising flood waters

The road will remain closed until further notice. Motorists may follow the signed detour along County Road 2, County Road 12 and Highway 23, or seek their own alternate routes.

Every flood is dangerous, many county and local roads are also closed in central Minnesota, and water continues to rise in much of Kanabec county and other areas of Central Minnesota.

If you must travel, follow these safe driving practices:

  • Expect the unexpected – flash floods can occur anytime, anywhere.
  • Do not drive around barricades or into flooded areas.
  • If floodwaters rise around your car, abandon the car and move to higher ground, if you can do so safely.

When a road is closed it is illegal to drive around or remove cones, barrels or other barricades. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, or damage infrastructure, other expenses and penalties will apply.
