ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists travelling on Highway 22 in Eden Valley will encounter short delays and a detour. Highway 22 between Highway 55 and Hutcheson Avenue remains closed until June 30.

The detour until June 30 will direct motorists along Highway 55, 617th Avenue, County Road 9 and back to Highway 22. The 7-ton limit spring restriction on CR 9 has been lifted.

  • Detour modifies June 30
Highway 22 will be remain closed from County Road 9/Stearns Ave to Hutcheson Avenue in Eden Valley. Traffic will be detoured via Stearns Ave/County Road 9 and County Road 9 back to Highway 22 north of town.

Local businesses and residences along Highway 22 will remain accessible throughout the closure.

The closure and detours are part of larger project to reconstruct Highway 22, segments of Central Avenue, Coleman Avenue, Cossairt Avenue and utilities in Eden Valley. Once complete in August 2014, the project will result in:

  • A smoother road surface and extended road life
  • Improved street lighting for added safety
