Hwy 95 closed at Rum River in Cambridge
Detour uses city streets around project
A signed detour will direct Highway 95 travelers along Second Ave and Fern St in Cambridge from May 2014 to July 2015, as crews reconstruct the Rum River bridge.
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists traveling through Cambridge will encounter a short detour with minimal delays as Highway 95 remains closed near the Rum River until July 2015.
A signed detour uses Second Avenue and Fern Street.
The closure is needed as crews replace the Highway 95 bridge over the Rum River.
The Rum River will also occasionally close to water travel when work on the bridge presents a potential safety hazard to water traffic. Boaters, canoeists and other river users can get information on planned river closings at Highway 95 in Cambridge by listening to a recorded message at 320-223-6608.
The new bridge will improve safety with wider shoulders and updated lighting, and provide smoother pavement near the Rum River.
Work began in May 2014, and is slated to be complete by July 2015.
