Slow traffic expected on I-94 west of St. Cloud March 10-12
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists travelling Interstate 94 west of St. Cloud may encounter slow or stopped traffic as lane closures, ramp closures and rolling road blocks occur between Highway 23 and County Road 2 Monday, March 10 through Wednesday, March 12.
On Monday, March 10 and Tuesday, March 11, both directions of I-94 between Highway 23 and County Road 2 will be reduced to a single lane from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Wednesday, March 12, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., rolling road blocks are scheduled along on the same segment of I-94. The rolling roadblock typically moves at speeds of 15-25 miles per hour.
Motorists approaching the 4-mile segment of I-94, located west of St. Cloud, should slow down and be prepared to stop if necessary.
Also on Wednesday, March 12, the ramp from Highway 23 to westbound I-94 will close intermittently for up to 15 minutes at a time.
The closures and rolling roadblocks and are needed as crews conduct preparatory work and string power lines over the interstate as part of the CAPX-2020 project.
