Prescribed fires planned along Highway 55 Brooten to Regal Oct. 28

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Local residents and motorists along Highway 55 between Brooten and Regal may see smoke from roadside prescribed fires Monday, Oct. 28.

Traffic should not be affected and all roadways will remain open.

The prescribed fires are controlled by trained crews and conducted within MnDOT rights of way during optimal weather conditions to ensure safety and effectiveness, and are used to improve native vegetation and weed control.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution and slow down in work zones.
