Lane closures scheduled on Highway 55 at two locations between Rockford, Maple Lake

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists travelling Highway 55 between Rockford and Maple Lake may encounter delays as the road is intermittently reduced to a single lane during non-rush hours at several locations beginning Monday, Sept. 16.

The closures are scheduled 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays through October 12.

The closures will occur on Highway 55 one-half mile west of Rockford at Gabler Avenue Southeast; and on Highway 55 two-and-a-half miles east of Maple Lake between Crowfoot Avenue Northwest and Colbert Avenue Northwest, near Sullivan Lake.

Flaggers will allow one-way, alternating traffic through the daily work zones. Motorists should slow down and prepare to stop as they approach the daily work zone, and must obey flaggers and signs as they navigate each work zone.

The closures are needed as crews upgrade guardrail and re-grade shoulders and slopes along the roadway. When complete, the project will improve safety along each segment of the highway.
