Highway 23 ribbon cutting celebration set for Nov. 8 in Foley
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Residents, business owners and the media are invited to join a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of Highway 23 as a four-lane expressway between St. Cloud and Foley.
The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, on the west end of Glen Street across from the Foley water tower.
Dignitaries from the city of Foley and the Foley Chamber of Commerce as well as representatives from the Minnesota Department of Transportation will briefly speak about the project. A short ribbon cutting ceremony will follow. Project representatives also will be on-hand to answer specific questions about the project.
The event will end by 11 a.m.
The Highway 23 reconstruction project began July 26, 2011, and all four lanes of new road opened Nov. 2, 2012. The project improves mobility and safety along eight miles of road from Highway 95 east of St. Cloud to Highway 25 in Foley and included improvements to local streets and underground utilities.
More information on the project is available at www.mndot.gov/d3/hwy23.
