Weekend lane closures scheduled for Highway 169 in Elk River July 27-29
Overnight ramp closures at Highway 169/10/101 interchange also scheduled
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists may encounter delays in Elk River as southbound Highway 169 is reduced to a single lane and turn lanes are closed at School Street at 8 p.m. Friday, July 27.
All lanes will reopen by 10 a.m. Sunday, July 29.
The weekend lane closures are needed as crews repair the roadway and allow adequate cure time before the new concrete carries traffic.
Overnight ramp closures also are scheduled to begin at the Highway 169/10/101 interchange over the same weekend. More detailed information on those closures will be issued as it becomes available through the project’s website at www.dot.state.mn.us/d3/hwy169er-zim/index.html.
The closures are part of a larger project to resurface, repair and improve Highway 169 between Highway 10 in Elk River and Zimmerman.
When complete, the project will result in a smoother ride, improved drainage, reduced short-term maintenance costs along 10 miles of busy roadway and improved pedestrian accommodations that meet modern accessibility standards at four intersections in Elk River.
