Highway 169 lane closures begin July 9
Closures mark beginning of 10-mile long Highway 169 resurfacing project
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists will encounter single-lane traffic on sections of northbound Highway 169 in Elk River between Highway 10 and Sherburne Country Road 33 beginning at 4 a.m. Monday, July 9.
All lane closures will occur during non-rush hours and are scheduled to be complete by early August.
The closures are needed as crews begin work on a larger project that will resurface and repair both directions of Highway 169 between Highway 10 in Elk River and 261st Avenue/Sherburne County Road 4 in Zimmerman.
Motorists should also expect non-rush hour lane and ramp closures on both directions of Highway 169 between Elk River and Zimmerman through mid-October. More specific information on future closures will be issued as it becomes available through the project’s email updates.
When complete, the $8.7 million project will result in a smoother ride, improved drainage, reduced short-term maintenance costs along 10 miles of busy roadway and improved pedestrian accommodations to meet modern accessibility standards at four intersections in Elk River.
