Resurfacing project in central Minnesota begins May 7
BAXTER, Minn. — Motorists in central Minnesota should plan for minor traffic delays, weekday intermittent lane closures, traffic shifts and reduced speeds beginning Monday, May 7, as crews begin resurfacing work on several Hwys in Morrison, Crow Wing, Stearns, Sherburne and Wright counties.
The $2.5 million road preservation project includes work on Hwy 10 south of Little Falls to Morrison County Road 40 south of Royalton.
The project also includes nighttime work on:
- Hwy 210 from Golf Course Road in Baxter to just east of Third Street NW in Brainerd
- Interstate 94 from Sauk River to Stearns County Road 75
- Hwy 24 from I-94 to State Street in Clear Lake—Wright and Sherburne counties
- Hwy 25 from just north of Wright County Road 138 to just north of Wright County Road 106
During paving operations on four-lane roadways, traffic will shift to one lane through the work zone and be directed by flaggers.
Pilot cars will be utilized on two-lane roadways.
Drivers are urged to slow down and be alert for flaggers, heavy, slow-moving equipment and loose gravel on the roadway surface.
Work is scheduled to be completed by late June, weather permitting.
Astech Corp. of St. Joseph, Minn. is the prime contractor the project.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
