Highway 23 in east St. Cloud to close May 4 - 8
Traffic to be detoured
ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Highway 23 in east St. Cloud will be closed from Wilson Avenue to Lincoln Avenue beginning Friday, May 4, at 10 a.m., to approximately Tuesday, May 8, at 6 a.m.
Traffic will be detoured via Wilson Avenue, East St. Germain Street and Lincoln Avenue. To view the detour, visit http://www.mndot.gov/d3/newsrels/11/detours/hwy23detour2011pedbridge.pdf.
The closure is necessary to allow crews to relocate utilities underneath the road.
The work is part of the pedestrian bridge replacement project just east of Wilson Avenue that began April 30. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by the end of August, weather permitting.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
