Motorists urged to use caution on Hwy 169 in Elk River March 9-11
Lane closures in place at ERX Motor Park due to national snowmobile event
ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Motorists traveling northbound and southbound on Highway 169 in Elk River March 9-11 are advised to be alert of lane closures between 213th Avenue NW and 217th Avenue NW, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive with caution through the area as several thousand people are expected to attend a three-day snocross event at the ERX Motor Park. Drivers should watch for signs and be prepared for sudden stops. Law enforcement will be patrolling the area.
Northbound Highway 169 will be reduced to a single lane beginning March 9 in the early afternoon. The northbound lane will reopen to traffic March 10 in the late evening.
Left turns lanes and the crossover into the ERX Motor Park will be closed to southbound traffic. Southbound motorists planning to attend the event are asked to continue south and exit at 205th Avenue NW/Sherburne County Road 33, turn left, and re-enter onto northbound Highway 169. Detour signs will be posted.
