Interstate 94 - CAPX2020 utility project Monticello to St. Cloud

Expect road delays at Clearwater

 

Beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, motorists will encounter left lane closures on Interstate 94 just west of the Highway 24 off ramp and approximately one mile east of Highway 24 as part of the Xcel Energy transmission grid upgrade.

 

This work is expected to be completed by early Saturday morning. 

 

CapX2020 is a joint initiative of investor-owned, cooperative and municipal utilities in Minnesota and the surrounding region to upgrade and expand the electric transmission grid to ensure continued reliable and affordable service.

 

The helicopter and implosive connector work is expected to last through October.

 

Motorists are reminded to keep their eyes on the road.
