Expect high traffic volumes on Brainerd Lakes Area roadways Aug. 18-21
Highway 371 construction will be restricted |
BAXTER, Minn. – Motorists should plan for heavy traffic volumes on Brainerd Lakes Area highways—especially Highway 371—Thursday, Aug. 18, through Sunday, Aug. 21.
More than 100,000 visitors will attend the 30th annual Lucas Oil National Hot Rod Association Nationals race at the Brainerd International Raceway.
Work on the Highway 371 construction project south of Green Gables Road will be restricted to reduce traffic impacts. Crews will work from north of Green Gables Road to Pequot Lakes, and lane restrictions will be in effect in the areas where crews are working.
Motorists should be patient, expect delays and be prepared for sudden stops on Highway 371. The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to take alternative routes and avoid the area, if possible.
