UPDATE: Hwy 25 traffic switch north of Monticello temporarily postponed
ST. CLOUD, Minn. —Due to the excessive rainfall in recent weeks, the Highway 25 project northeast of Monticello, has experienced a short term delay with the planned traffic switch onto the newly constructed southbound roadway.
Crews will repair a small portion of the roadway that experienced a pavement failure Friday afternoon. Repairs will be at a very rapid pace and the planned traffic switch should take place later in the week.
At the same time, Sherburne County Road 17 will remain detoured.
As work continues on the Highway 25 reconstruction project, motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures and traffic switches throughout the work zone.
The project includes widening intersections, installing dual left turn lanes at the Sherburne County Road 11/14 intersection and installing a single left turn lane at Sherburne County Road 17/200th Street.
During construction and road maintenance work, MnDOT urges drivers to:
- Check www.511mn.org or call 511 for up-to-date information about traffic and road conditions.
- Stay alert; expect the unexpected.
- Never enter a road that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
- Plan ahead and expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
