Highway 227 project in Wadena County begins July 27
Traffic will be detoured
BAXTER, Minn. — Motorists will encounter a road closure on Highway 227 over the Cat River just west of Nimrod when a bridge project begins Wednesday, July 27.
The road will be closed at the bridge while crews remove the bridge and install box culverts. Traffic will be detoured via Wadena County Road 23, Wadena County Road 9 and Wadena County Road 26.
Landwehr Construction Inc. of St. Cloud, Minn., is the prime contractor for this nearly $400,000 project, which is scheduled to be complete by Aug. 26, weather permitting.
During construction and road maintenance work, the MnDOT urges drivers to:
- Check www.511mn.org or call 511 for up-to-date information about traffic and road conditions.
- Stay alert; expect the unexpected.
- Never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
- Plan ahead and expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
