Hwy 169 bridge resurfacing project in Elk River begins June 1
BAXTER, Minn. —Motorists will encounter single-lane traffic and access closures with detours through Elk River beginning Wednesday, June 1, as crew resurface the Hwy 169 southbound overpass at the Hwy 10/169/101 interchange.
The project will be completed in three stages. All dates are approximate and weather permitting.
- Stage 1 - Construct temporary crossovers June 1-6. The Hwy 10 westbound loop and the left exit to Hwy 169 will close.
- Stage 2 - Resurface bridge and upgrade railings June 6-25. The Hwy 169 southbound bridge will close. Southbound traffic will shift to the northbound lanes on the overpass, carrying single-lane traffic in each direction. The Hwy 10 westbound loop to Hwy 169 north will close, and the Hwy 10 eastbound loop to Hwy 101 south will close.
- Stage 3 - Construct crossovers June 25-30. Hwy 10 westbound loop to Hwy 169 north will close, and the Hwy 10 eastbound loop to Hwy 101 south will close.

Work is scheduled to be completed by late June, weather permitting.
PCI Roads from St. Michael, Minnesota, is the prime contractor for this bridge resurfacing project.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid congestion and possible delays.
