Hwy 107 resurfacing project in southern Kanabec County starts May 16
Traffic will be detoured
BAXTER, Minn.— Motorists will encounter a road closure and detour on Hwy 107 in Kanabec and Pine counties from Braham to just west of Brook Park when a resurfacing project begins May 16. The project also includes shoulder and culvert work.
Culvert work will require a 21-day detour on Hwy 107 from Grasston to Hwy 23. Motorists will follow a signed detour west on Kanabec County Road 17 to Kanabec County Road 5 and north back to Hwy 23. A copy of the detour map can be found at www.dot.state.mn.us/d3/newsrels/11/detours/detourhwy107Grasston.pdf.
Hardrives, Inc. of Rogers, Minn., is the prime contractor for the $3.6 million project that will improve mobility, safety and access. Westwood Professional Services of Brainerd, Minn., will provide project contract administration and oversight.
The project is scheduled to be completed by late July, weather permitting.
During construction and road maintenance work, MnDOT urges drivers to:
- Check www.511mn.org or call 511 for up-to-date information about traffic and road conditions.
- Stay alert; expect the unexpected.
- Never enter a road that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
- Plan ahead and expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
