Open house on Hwy 15 interchange project in St. Cloud set for Dec. 13

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The public is invited to an open house and hearing on Tuesday, Dec. 13, to discuss the proposed diverging diamond interchange at Highway 15 and Stearns County Road 120.  The project is scheduled for construction in 2012-13 in Sartell and St. Cloud.

The open house will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Minnesota Department of Transportation building, 3725 12th St. N., St. Cloud, Minn.

Attendees will learn about the project from MnDOT, county and city officials and have an opportunity to comment and ask questions. Maps, drawings and other pertinent information, including the draft environmental assessment, will be available. Comments may be either written or verbal and will become part of the official public hearing record. All comments will be considered when making future project-related decisions.

The proposed project will construct a diverging diamond interchange at Highway 15 and Stearns County Road 120. A bridge will carry Stearns County Road 120 traffic over Highway 15, with exit and entrance ramps. The project also includes constructing multi-use trail connections and a storm water pond.

Drawing Hwy 15 DDICopies of the draft environmental assessment, which documents the purpose and need of the project along with anticipated social, economic and environmental impacts, are available for public viewing during business hours at the following locations:

The document is also available at www.dot.state.mn.us/d3/hwy15ddi/. Comments may be emailed to claudia.dumont@state.mn.us or mailed to Claudia Dumont, project manager, at the MnDOT District 3B Office address listed above. The public comment period ends Dec. 28, 2011.
