Lane closures on I-94 and Hwy 15 at St. Cloud
CAPX2020 utility project
Lane closures on I-94
Beginning at 9 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 6, motorists will encounter left lane closures on the east and westbound lanes of I-94 just west of Hwy 15 to complete the removal of all concrete barrier and crash attenuator systems installed for the CAPX2020 program.
Work is expected to be completed by 1 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, weather permitting.
Lane closures on Hwy 15
On Wednesday, Dec. 7, beginning at 9 a.m. crews will close the left lanes in both directions of Hwy 15 just west of I-94 to remove the structures on Hwy 15. Work is anticipated to be completed by 2 p.m. Wednesday. Traffic on I-94 will not be affected by this work.
This will complete the removal of all barriers for this project, weather permitting.
CapX2020 is a joint initiative of investor-owned, cooperative and municipal utilities in Minnesota and the surrounding region to upgrade and expand the electric transmission grid to ensure continued reliable and affordable service.
The helicopter and implosive connector work is expected to last through December.
