Workzone at night

Highway 23 opens to traffic at Milaca Nov. 13

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Motorists can resume traffic on the Highway 23 Rum River Bridge at Milaca when it opens to traffic Friday afternoon, Nov. 13, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

For one week after the opening, lanes will be closed periodically at the intersection of Highway 169 and Mille Lacs County Highway 8 in Pease as crews deactivate and disassemble the temporary traffic signal system used during the detour.

Redstone Construction of Mora was the prime contractor for the $1.8 million bridge replacement project. Traffic had been detoured nine miles since work began in July.

MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. For updated statewide traffic, construction, weather and travel information, visit www.511mn.org.
