Washington Memorial Drive to 4th Avenue; includes overpass at Lake George

Traffic on Highway 23/Division Street in St. Cloud will continue using the new westbound lanes throughout the entire length of the project.

5th, 7th, 14th and Washington Memorial Drive intersections are now open and operating on signal systems. 6th Avenue is open with stop signs. 12th, 13th, 15th, 16th and 17th Avenues are open on the north side of Highway 23/Division Street. All intersections will require temporary closures for the final concrete median and paving in later stages of the project.

On/off ramps at 9th Avenue South are closed to traffic. 9th/10th Avenue traffic continues on the southbound lanes between 4th Street and St. Germain.

Slope paving/grading work and concrete pours continue this week under the new bridge.

Bridge decking on the eastbound portion of the new bridge is complete with the iron placement scheduled to be completed Thursday and the deck pour planned for Friday of this week.

Signal system wire splicing work continues at Washington Memorial Drive, 12th and 14th Avenues.

Grading work on northbound 10th Avenue is complete with curb and gutter scheduled for Thursday of this week; bituminous paving is scheduled for early next week.

Bituminous milling on the southbound 9th/10th Avenue lanes is scheduled to begin next week.

Concrete sidewalk work at various locations around the project continues this week.

The Highway 23 project, including the overpass at Lake George, is still on schedule to open to four lanes of traffic in early November.

4th Avenue to Wilson Avenue; includes Mississippi River Bridge

Highway 23 remains closed at 5th Avenue for the construction of Highway 23 from west of 4th Avenue to the Mississippi River bridge and the 4th Avenue intersection. Detour map

Traffic is being detoured using 5th Avenue and 1st Street South back to 4th Avenue. This detour will be in place until early September to allow crews to complete the work.

Crews will pour new curb and gutter on 4th Avenue and Highway 23 west of the bridge and sidewalk east of the bridge to Wilson Avenue next week.

Paving of Highway 23 west of the bridge is scheduled to begin the week of September 8th.

Installation of lighting on the bridge continues.

Granite veneer installation will continue through October.

Crews are forming and pouring railings, sidewalk and median island on the bridge.

Bridge approach panels will be poured on Thursday of this week and early next week.

The bridge structural deck is complete and crews are working on railing and sidewalk though the next few weeks.

Crews are placing reinforcement bars for approach panels, railing and sidewalk.

The project is on schedule for completion in early November..
