Bridge replacement at Wright County Highway 75
and Interstate 94 in Monticello began July 20

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Motorists may encounter periodic lane closures or traffic lane shifts when work continues on a bridge replacement project at Wright County Highway 75/Broadway Street and Interstate 94 in east Monticello.

I-94 will remain open to traffic throughout the duration of the project.

During this project crews will:

  • Remove and construct two overpasses
  • Construct retaining walls
  • Realign and reconstruct westbound I-94 to the new overpass
  • Replace overhead safety lighting
  • Pave a new concrete road surface on I-94 at the bridges
  • Reconstruct ramps at Wright County Highway 18
  • Remove old ramps
  • Realign and reconstruct Broadway Street underneath the overpasses

Hoffman Construction Company, Inc. is the prime contractor for this $11.1 million project.

Also, for pedestrian safety the trail underneath the bridges will be closed for the duration of this project.

This project is scheduled to be completed by early November 2010.
