ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Motorists will experience
single-lane closures during non-peak traffic hours on Interstate
94 from Clearwater to Monticello beginning this afternoon, May
26.
Crews
will use a diamond surface grinder to smooth and repair the concrete
road surface, a process that will extend the life of the roadway.
The majority of the traffic impacts between Clearwater and Monticello
will occur between sundown and sunrise.
Drivers are urged to reduce speed and be alert for signs and
traffic barrels, especially during nighttime hours when sight
distances decrease.
The project also includes on/off ramps at Clearwater and Hasty
and a short segment of I-94 from Stearns County Highway 75 in
St. Joseph to Stearns County Hwy 159. Traffic impacts include
day and night lane/shoulder closures.
Diamond Surface Inc. is the prime contractor for the $6 million
concrete surface rehabilitation project, funded by the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act that was signed into law Feb.
17, 2009.
All work to be completed by August 19.
