Washington Memorial Drive to 4th Avenue
Work continues on the permanent signals at 5th, 7th and 14th
Avenue.
Pile driving operations continue on piers #2 and #3 and the east
abutment.
Pier #3 and the east bridge abutment are being excavated in preparation
for the bridge footing pile driving.
Underground utility installation and removals at 15th, 16th and
17th Avenue continues.
Motorists are traveling on the eastbound lanes of Highway 23,
one lane of traffic in each direction.
On/off ramps at 9th Avenue South are closed to traffic. 9th/10th
Avenue traffic have been switched to the southbound lanes between
4th Street and St. Germain Street.
Mississippi River Bridge
Crews have finished removing the old west abutment and constructing
the new west abutment footing. Work will continue on constructing
the west abutment stems and wing walls in the next two weeks.
Pier #1 is complete and the bearing assemblies set.
Pier #2 is complete. Forms and sheeting will be removed when curing
is completed next week.
Pier #3 is complete and the bearing assemblies set.
The east abutment and wingwalls are complete and will begin backfilling
the abutment.
Crews finished placing rip rap on the east river bank this week
and also begin raising the dock wall on the east river bank for
launching the beams. Beams are scheduled for delivery in early May,
Crews will begin erecting beams from the east side of river.
The contractor will continue to work on erosion control and clean-up.
The city of St. Cloud has completed the work on the sanitary sewer
on the west bank.
Boat traffic will be maintained on the Mississippi River during
this project.
