ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Citizens interested in hearing about the
staging and details of the Highway 23 improvement project from
Washington Memorial Drive to 4th Avenue in St. Cloud are invited
to attend an open house hosted by the Minnesota Department of
Transportation on Tuesday, March 24, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at
the St. Cloud Public Library, Mississippi River, 1300 W. Germain
Street.
In addition to a short presentation at 6 p.m., MnDOT officials
will be available to answer questions about project staging, time
lines and detour routes.
The Highway 23 improvement project from Washington Memorial Drive
to 4th Avenue is scheduled to begin in early April. The project
includes improvements such as a new overpass at Lake George, reconstruction
of the city parking lot, new city water and sewer, sidewalks,
street lighting and a pedestrian crossing at 12th Avenue. This
work is being done in conjunction with the Highway 23 Mississippi
River bridge project, which began last summer. For more project
