ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Citizens interested in hearing about the staging and details of the Highway 23 improvement project from Washington Memorial Drive to 4th Avenue in St. Cloud are invited to attend an open house hosted by the Minnesota Department of Transportation on Tuesday, March 24, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Cloud Public Library, Mississippi River, 1300 W. Germain Street.

In addition to a short presentation at 6 p.m., MnDOT officials will be available to answer questions about project staging, time lines and detour routes.

The Highway 23 improvement project from Washington Memorial Drive to 4th Avenue is scheduled to begin in early April. The project includes improvements such as a new overpass at Lake George, reconstruction of the city parking lot, new city water and sewer, sidewalks, street lighting and a pedestrian crossing at 12th Avenue. This work is being done in conjunction with the Highway 23 Mississippi River bridge project, which began last summer.
