ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The public is invited to learn about the progress
being made on the Highway 23 Mississippi River Bridge at a meeting
Wednesday, Sept. 3.
The project update will begin at 12:15 p.m. at St.
Cloud City Hall Council Chambers, 400 Second Street South.
Representatives from Lunda Construction and the Minnesota Department
of Transportation will provide a short update and answer questions.
Those requesting American Disability Act accommodations, such
as an American Sign Language interpreter, can do so by contacting
MnDOT district communications, Judy
Jacobs at 218/828-5706.
In March, slight bending on four gusset plates was discovered
during a Highway 23 DeSoto Mississippi River bridge inspection,
forcing the bridge to be closed to traffic.
Demolition of the bridge began on Monday, Aug. 25. The $36 million
project is scheduled to open to traffic by November 2009.
