ST. CLOUD, Minn.-- The Highway 23 detour using local city streets
through St. Cloud will resume its original route Wednesday, Aug.
13, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Map:

Westbound Highway 23 Detour
- Lincoln Avenue, St. Germain Street and Fourth Avenue
Eastbound Highway 23 Detour
- Fourth Avenue, St. Germain Street and Wilson Avenue
Semitrailer drivers are encouraged to continue to use a signed
truck route around St. Cloud to alleviate local congestion. The
route is via Highway 15, Benton County Road 29 and Highway 10.
The detour had been modified to allow Xcel Energy to relocate a
gas main underneath the Highway 23 DeSoto bridge. The new $36 million
Highway 23 Mississippi River bridge is scheduled to open to traffic
in November 2009.
