Workzone at night

Road work on Highway 23, Highway 71 to begin Aug. 9

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Motorists should plan for daytime lane closures on Highway 23 and Highway 71 in Stearns and Todd counties beginning Friday afternoon, Aug. 8.

Crews will apply a bituminous seal coat to the pavement surface to extend the life of the roadway. Work segments include:

  • Highway 23, one-half mile west of Rockville to Interstate 94 in Stearns County (approximately seven miles)
  • Highway 71, one mile north of Long Prairie to Sauk Centre in Todd and Stearns counties (approximately 19 miles)

A pilot car and flaggers will control traffic. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be prepared for short delays and obey all traffic personnel.

Astech Corporation of St. Joseph is the contractor for the $1 million road preservation project, which is expected to be completed by early September, weather permitting.
