Workzone at night

Road preservation work in Morrison and Crow Wing counties

Includes Highway 28 and Highway 371

BAXTER, Minn. - Motorists should plan for daytime weekday lane closures on two area highways from sunrise to sunset beginning June 2. The closures are necessary to accommodate crews applying seal coat to the pavement surface. The work will extend the life of the roadways.

Work segments include:

  • Highway 28 from the north end of Swanville to Highway 27 in Morrison County (approximately five miles)
  • Highway 371 just north of Morrison County Road 48 to one mile south of Business Highway 371 in Morrison and Crow Wing Counties (approximately 13 miles)
  • Highway 371 Brainerd Lakes Area Welcome Center parking lot and access roads in Crow Wing County

Flaggers will control traffic. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, watch for signs and obey all traffic personnel.

Pearson Brothers Incorporated of Hanover is the contractor for the $657,000 road preservation project to be completed by early July, weather permitting.
