| ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Motorists
will encounter a detour through the city of Delano in Wright County
as Highway 12 construction gets underway in full force beginning the
week of April 7, reports the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
MnDOT Project Manager Rick Beckes says the detour is necessary
to allow crews to reconstruct the roadway with a new bituminous
surface. The work includes adding a center turn lane from the south
side of the railroad overpass to Wright County Highway 139 and replacing
the South Fork Crow River Bridge. Construction also includes city
side streets, curb and gutters, sidewalks, water/sanitary sewers,
street lighting and a water lift pump station.
The bridge will be closed and the detour will be in effect from
Monday, April 7 through Saturday, Nov. 15. Motorists will be detoured
via Wright County Highway 139/County Line Road, Wright County Highway
30/70th Street Southeast, Wright County Highway 17/River Street
and Wright County Highway 30/Bridge Avenue. Detour: pdf

Two temporary traffic signals will control traffic at the intersections
of 70th Street Southeast/County Line Road and Bridge Avenue/River
Street.
Park Construction Company of Minneapolis is the prime contractor
for the $16.4 million bridge and highway safety improvement project.
Weather permitting, Highway 12 will reopen to traffic by Saturday,
Nov. 15.
MnDOT urges motorists to plan ahead, expect delays, watch for
detour signs and be alert for workers in the work zone. For updated
