14-mile resurfacing project set for next summer

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Residents and business owners are encouraged to attend an open house on Wednesday, June 15 to learn more about the 2017 resurfacing project on Highway 38 between Itasca County Road 19 near Pughole Lake to Marcell.

The open house is being held this summer in order to make it more available to summer residents in the area. It will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Marcell Family Center, 49103 Highway 38, Marcell.

The meeting will be held as an open house with no formal presentation and everyone is welcome to come when it’s convenient. MnDOT staff will be on hand to answer questions about the handling of traffic during construction and to present information on the project and detour. Contact MnDOT Project Manager Joe McKinnon if there are questions concerning the project or open house at 218-755-6517 or joseph.mckinnon@state.mn.us.

The project includes resurfacing, culvert replacement, shoulder repair and grade adjustments. It will also require detours on nearby county and state highways.
