Orange barrels on a highway

Trees to be removed along Hwy 371 in Walker March 12

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Motorists in Walker may encounter lane closures and brief delays along Highway 371 (Minnesota Avenue) tomorrow as crews remove trees along the highway right of way.

The trees identified for removal are located between Second Street and Walker Bay Boulevard. They are older trees that are showing signs of stress and age.

During maintenance work, MnDOT urges drivers to:

  • Watch for construction crews and equipment in the work zone.
  • Follow posted speed limits; fines double in work zones.
  • Plan ahead and expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Stay alert; expect the unexpected.
