Orange barrels on a highway

Hwy 2/Robert Street in Crookston to close July 29

Concrete pavement rehabilitation work continues

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Motorists on Hwy 2/Robert Street in downtown Crookston will encounter a detour beginning Monday, July 29.

Hwy 2/Robert Street will close between Broadway and Main Street for the next phase of the concrete pavement rehabilitation project.

Traffic on eastbound Hwy 2/Robert Street will detour south to Fletcher Street. Traffic on westbound Hwy 2/Robert Street will detour north of Second Street.

The detour will remain in place for approximately one week.

Semis and other large commercial vehicles are strongly encouraged to use the Hwy 2 truck bypass around Crookston due to the tight turning locations on the detour routes.

Motorists could also encounter additional short-term detours for pavement rehabilitation work within the intersections of Sixth Street/Broadway and Main Street/West Robert Street.

Crews will move to East Grand Forks in early August when work in Crookston nears completion.

When the project is complete, motorists will experience a smoother ride and safer highway.
