Orange barrels on a highway

Hwy 1 Bridge replacement over the Mud River in Redby begins today

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Motorists on Hwy 1 in Redby will encounter a one-week detour beginning today as crews replace the bridge over the Mud River.

The detour will follow Beltrami County Road 23, County Road 32 and Hwy 89.

The detour is expected to end by June 18 and the project will be complete near the end of October, weather permitting. Northern Engineering and Consulting, Inc. is administering the project and Red Lake Builders, Inc. is the prime contractor.

The new bridge will improve safety for motorists.
