Bridge over the Blackduck River to be replaced

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Motorists on Hwy 1 east of Redby will encounter a detour beginning Monday, June 3, as crews remove and replace the bridge over the Blackduck River.

The detour will follow Beltrami County Road 23 (Everts Road) south eight miles to County Road 32 (Nebish Road), then north eight miles on Hwy 72.

Swingen Construction is the contractor for the $1.06 million project, which is scheduled for completion near the end of August, weather permitting.

The new bridge will improve safety for motorists.
