Hwy 11 construction detour to change from Greenbush to Roseau
BEMIDJI, Minn. – A detour currently in place on Hwy 11 from Greenbush to Badger is expected to end Tuesday, June 12, and a second-phase detour will begin Wednesday, June 13. Crews continue work to improve Hwy 11 from Greenbush to 2.3 miles west of Roseau.
The phase-two detour will direct eastbound traffic at Badger onto Roseau County Road 2 for 11 miles, then north on Hwy 89 for five miles and back to Hwy 11 in Roseau. Westbound traffic will follow the same detour in reverse.
Traffic on Hwy 89 north of Hwy 11 will also encounter a detour to accommodate the construction on Hwy 308.
Southbound traffic on Hwy 89 will detour east on Roseau County Road 16 for seven miles, then south on Hwy 310 for two miles and back to Hwy 11 in Roseau.
Crews expect the new detours to be in place until approximately July 10, weather permitting.
The work is part of a $6.5 million project to improve this portion of Hwy 11 by replacing culverts, adding turn lanes and resurfacing the road. Resurfacing Hwy 308 from Hwy 11 to Hwy 89 is also part of this project.
The entire project is expected to be complete in mid-August, weather permitting.
