Weekly Hwy 34 construction information meetings begin June 2
Project includes Highway 226 to Dorset
Bemidji, Minn. — The public is encouraged to attend weekly information meetings about the Highway 34 improvement project from Park Rapids to Akeley. The project is scheduled to begin June 6 and includes resurfacing Highway 226 to Dorset.
The meetings will take place every Thursday, June 2-30, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the lower level room of the Park Rapids Public Library, 210 First Street W., Park Rapids.
The project includes resurfacing the road, paving shoulders, constructing a turn lane and bypass lane, removing a cattle pass, upgrading guardrails, realigning Hubbard County Road 107 and resurfacing Highway 34 in Akeley and Highway 226 in Dorset.
Representatives from the prime contractor, Central Specialties Inc., and the Minnesota Department of Transportation will conduct the meetings.
