Detour lifted on Highway 11 from Baudette to Pelland
Over-width vehicles will continue to use detour until late October

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Highway 11 from Baudette to Pelland is now open to traffic, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Vehicles that require over-width permits are prohibited from using that stretch of Highway 11 due to restrictions at the Clementson Bridge project east of Baudette—the roadway is reduced to one lane that is 12 feet wide with 10-foot restriction.

In addition to the Clementson Bridge, major reconstruction continues on Highway 11 from Frontier Landing to Indus.

Motorists using Highway 11 are advised to allow extra travel time through the work zones where a mandatory 30 mph speed limit is in place, along with temporary stop lights at the Clementson Bridge.

Over-width vehicle traffic will continue to use the following detour route:

Eastbound traffic will be detoured south on Highway 72 for 60 miles, then east on Highway 1 for five miles to Highway 71, then north on Highway 71 for 61 miles to Pelland. Westbound traffic will use the same route in reverse.

Over-width restrictions at the Clementson Bridge are expected to be lifted by late October. Work on Highway 11 from Frontier Landing to Indus is expected to be complete by Nov. 5, weather permitting.
